Living the Kingdom before the Kingdom

I think one of the most beautiful parts about the gospel and the message of Jesus is that those who believe have already won the battle. We have already been redeemed and we will be changed as people through the power of the Holy Spirit to be more like Jesus. But with having this understanding that we have already won if we keep the faith, what then should we do in life? What is our purpose in this life if we have already been forgiven of our sins and now we are promised to live with God on the new earth forever? Well, I believe based on scripture, that our new purpose as redeemed children of God is to be representatives of the eternal kingdom here on earth.
You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me.
John 15:3-4 NASB
You are already filled, you have already become rich, you have become kings without us; and indeed, I wish that you had become kings so that we also might reign with you.
1 Corinthians 4:8 NASB
We have already been made clean and we have already received the riches of God, now we must abide in Christ to bear fruit. And in our bearing fruit we also bear witness to Christ and to God. For people will see how we live and see that our lives were changed not by the power of our own will, but the will of God.
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 5:14-16 NASB
We are called to be like the Church of Thessalonica, which Paul said was a beacon unto all of Macedonia. The believers there truly became a city on a hill.
For the word of the Lord has sounded forth from you, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith toward God has gone forth, so that we have no need to say anything.
1 Thessalonians 1:8 NASB
So if we are all called to be a city on a hill and we have already won the war, lets go out and show the world what the kingdom of God looks like. So I challenge those reading this that they would walk out the ways of Jesus and take up our role of being the light of the world that Jesus called us to. And in this we may save others and bring them into the family of God.
I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
Luke 15:7 NASB
