One of the things that I love about God is what He wants from us. I know that most people don’t like the fact that God would require anything from us, but I think if we look at what He wants, it is telling of the character of God.

“Thus has the Lord of hosts said, ‘Dispense true justice and practice kindness and compassion each to his brother; and do not oppress the widow or the orphan, the stranger or the poor; and do not devise evil in your hearts against one another.’ But they refused to pay attention and turned a stubborn shoulder and stopped their ears from hearing. They made their hearts like flint so that they could not hear the law and the words which the Lord of hosts had sent by His Spirit through the former prophets; therefore great wrath came from the Lord of hosts. Zechariah 7:9‭-‬13 NASB

As we can see, God wants us to treat each other right. That is what He desires from His creation. He isn’t like the pagan gods that desire endless sacrifices and ritual worship. But our God is a God that desires a people that would be righteous and that would increase in love, not hate. This is one of the main reasons that lead me to know God. Because when I read about Yeshua, I read about a person that loved other people and had a heart that was for God. All the things that God embodies are all the things that I know are good.
